Throughout the year Silver Lake offers organized Retreats.  All you will need to do is register, pack and show-up. Leave everything else to us.  All our retreats include delicious food, excellent programs and exceptional staff.  Upcoming retreats:

Men’s Meat Retreat – September 22 – 24, 2017

One of our most popular retreats, participants will enjoy a carnivorously-rich menu that will leaving you begging for vegetables by the end of it. Meals are prepared by Foodie and Wine Master Dave Lobe while Chip Bender gives us something to chew on theologically.  This year’s theme is “Who Are You, Where Are You Going”. This retreat was full in 2014 & 2015  so be sure to register early. Sponsored by Vincenzo’s in Waterloo.

Fathers and Kids Retreat – January 12-14, 2018

Skating on the lake, building snowmen and igloos, snowshoeing through the woods, roasting smores over the campfire, playing board games and mini-sticks in the dining hall and watching Hockey Night in Canada on the big screen! Dad’s enjoy some free-time on Saturday morning on the couches by the fire (newspapers and coffee will be in abundance) while our staff provide some outdoor programming with the kids. Sounds too good to be true we know, but that’s the Fathers & Kids Retreat. This retreat is full each year so be sure to register early. NOTE: Father can be defined as any male adult role model or mentor.

MCEC Winter Youth Retreat – February 2-4, 2018.

Winter Youth Retreat is an annual weekend event that is jam packed with faith, music and fun. Over the course of the weekend youth will be challenged and encouraged to grow spiritually, connect with other youth in MCEC, and to make practical changes in their lives that will have an impact even after they leave the retreat.This year’s theme will have a focus on mental wellness.  This retreat was full in 2014 & 2015 so be sure to register early!

Women’s Retreat – February 9-February 12, 2018

This Women’s only weekend is the perfect retreat for those looking to relax, reconnect and renew! Skating on the lake, relaxing in the sauna, enjoying a massage, snowshoeing through the woods, stargazing on a horse drawn sleigh ride and savouring exceptional food were just a few of the highlights of the retreat from previous years.

Winter Camp for Grownups! – March 2-4, 2018

This camp is for 20 & 30 somethings who wish they could do camp again! Enjoy everything winter has to offer at Silver Lake including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skating on the lake, relaxing in the sauna, walking through the woods, good conversation by the fire, exceptional food etc.  This “choose your own adventure” weekend is the perfect winter escape and is a collaborative project between PiE (Pastors in Exile) and Silver Lake. Sponsored by MSCU.

Rentals

Silver Lake Mennonite Camp is available for rental from early September to late June. Our facilities can accommodate large (75 people in the winter, and up to 150 people in the spring and fall) and small groups (15 people or less).

Our facilities are clean and well maintained with a brand new dining hall and kitchen facility at the heart of our camp.

Leave part of the retreat up to us… Silver Lake staff are available to rental groups for an added fee.  If you are interested in having our kitchen or program staff available please indicate this when booking your rental.

All Retreat groups can enjoy everything our 150 acres of forest, field and lake has to offer including; canoeing, kayaking, swimming, basketball, soccer, low ropes course (only available upon request and with trained Silver Lake staff member), walking trails and clean, well maintained a facilities. Silver Lake is situated in the heart of Grey-Bruce County with easy access to Lake Huron (Sauble Beach & Southampton), the Bruce Trail, spectacular cross country ski trails and other attractions. Outdoor Education Centre

For 50 years Silver Lake Mennonite Camp has been a place for children to visit and explore  the great outdoors. In addition to operating a summer camp, we also offer exciting, outdoor education experiences (secular or faith-based).  You are welcome to select from our extensive offering of curriculum based programming or we are happy to create custom schedules and programs to meet the unique needs of your group.
