COVID-19 Summer Camp 2022 Notice

Posted on: March 26th, 2022 by Karen Cornies

This policy was last reviewed by the board on March 26, 2022.  Ongoing review continues.

COVID-19 Notice for Overnight Camps, Outtrips and all Day Camps:

For the 2022 camp season, campers at all Silver Lake camps (overnight and day camp) aged 12 and older will need to show proof of full vaccination completed at least two weeks prior to arrival before being allowed entry to Camp. Should the government of Ontario require proof of vaccination for children 5-11 to enter businesses or organizations, Silver Lake will follow suit. A COVID waiver will likely need to be signed before arrival at Camp as a condition of entry.

The COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, so Silver Lake’s COVID policies and practices will also evolve in response. Please continue to monitor these changes on our website before travelling to Camp.

When registering for Camp, be aware that COVID-19 policies and protocols will be in place for summer 2022, along the lines of what is noted above, and that refunds will not be given on the basis of disagreement with said policies and protocols.

Please also note that if Silver Lake cancels a camp due to COVID (or for any reason), a full refund will be given.

  • Screening:  Daily screening required.  Refer to the Government of Ontario site:
  • PPE and Face Masks:  All are required to wear well-fitting masks (e.g., non-medical) while indoors in shared spaces.

COVID-19 Notice for Staff

Starting May 1 and lasting throughout the 2022 spring and summer season, all staff onsite, all staff at off-site day camps and all staff in person to person contact with SLMC campers while fulfilling their roles must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine, at least two weeks prior to May 1st.
