This past weekend, Ed Enns and Andrew Rourke lead a crew of volunteers who braved the cold, wet weather to begin the 2 week building blitz for the staff lounge.
The metal roof is on, interior walls are framed, insulation is in (not yet complete) and the windows and doors are installed! The cabins are really taking shape!
I popped up to camp for a few days to check-in on a few things including the new camper cabins – they look great!
Leanne and I were at camp yesterday to meet with the contractor responsible for building the two new camper cabins. They look great! Walls are framed and wrapped. Next steps include building the porch structure and installing the windows and doors.
Thinking of the Unrau Family as they grieve the death and celebrate the life of a great Wife, Mother, Oma, Sister, Aunt and Friend. It’s hard to believe the fire was one year ago! Here are some pictures to give you and idea of the amount of work involved in the restoration and enhancement of the heart of camp.
Konrad Sauer and I drove to camp yesterday to checkout some of the new projects. The solar panel is installed, the dining hall addition (camper washrooms and health centre) is finished and the new camper cabin project starts on Monday!
