Camper Cabin Update – the porch is on and it really looks great!
I popped up to camp for a few days to check-in on a few things including the new camper cabins – they look great!
New camper cabins are taking shape!
Leanne and I were at camp yesterday to meet with the contractor responsible for building the two new camper cabins. They look great! Walls are framed and wrapped. Next steps include building the porch structure and installing the windows and doors.

Thinking of the Unrau Family as they grieve the death and celebrate the life of a great Wife, Mother, Oma, Sister, Aunt and Friend. It’s hard to believe the fire was one year ago! Here are some pictures to give you and idea of the amount of work involved in the restoration and enhancement of the heart of camp.

Konrad Sauer and I drove to camp yesterday to checkout some of the new projects. The solar panel is installed, the dining hall addition (camper washrooms and health centre) is finished and the new camper cabin project starts on Monday!
New Camper Cabin Design!
Thanks to our volunteer architects (also parents of campers) Alex Jenkins and Graham Whiting (www.whitingdesign.ca), we now have a draft of design plans for our new campers cabins. What do you think? Send us your comments.
Dining Hall Addition is one month away from completion!
The primer is on and the paint is coming tomorrow. 4 more weeks until occupancy!
School Kits from Missions Program donated to MCCO
On Friday November 18th, a group of 35 Silver Lakers delivered, donated and packed the approximately 500 school kits assembled during the summer Missions program. New Initiatives are being installed today!
As part of our 50th anniversary capital campaign, we are revitalizing the initiatives area (Family Camp area for old timers!) by adding 6 new team building elements. We have also opened up the circle area around the timber-frame shelter to create open space for co-operative games and other fun activities. The elements are being built […]
Drywall is up in dining hall addition
The windows are in, the siding is on and the drywall is up and has a few coats of mud. The addition looks great! Still aiming for a mid December occupancy date.
