All Outtrips have a minimum of two lifeguards (National Lifeguard certification), staff with previous trip experience and most trips will have a staff with Wilderness Advanced First Aid or Wilderness First Responder.
To ensure camp safety, we require all of our Outtrip campers to complete the Silver Lake Swim Assessment (approximately 100 metres swimming and 5 minutes treading water*). Campers who do not pass the swim assessment must wear a PFD on, in or near the water. All campers and staff must wear a PFD while canoeing.
*Please note: Young eXplorer campers are required to do approximately 100 metres swimming and 3 minutes of treading water.
A great introductory to Outtrips for children age 9 – 12! To participate in this program, campers must have turned 9 by the end of 2026.
Spend the first two days at camp in preparation and leave mid-week for a 2 night, 3 day outtrip. Canoe along the Saugeen River, spending nights in tents, and cooking outdoors at campgrounds along the way. Finish up the week back at camp.
Spend the first two days at camp in preparation and leave mid-week for a 2 night, 3 day outtrip. Hike along the Bruce Trail, spending nights in tents, and cooking outdoors at campgrounds along the way. Night one, hikers will stay at Bass Lake Park and get to take a dip in the beautiful lake (which is also home to a mini inflatable water park!). Night two hikers stay at Mountain Lake Camp with an evening of relaxing around the pool!

A little further afield, this three night, four day outtrip is an introduction to back country canoe tripping and backpacking. To participate in this program, campers must have turned 11 by the end of 2026.
Spend the first two days at camp learning outtripping skills, connecting and preparing for the trip. Then head to Massassauga Provincial Park near Parry Sound for three nights in the back country. Explore beautiful waterways, enjoy nights under the stars, sleep in tents, and cook outdoors at backcountry campsites. Finish the week back at camp, unpacking, debriefing and participating in camp activities like banquet and campfire.
Spend the first two days at camp learning skills, connecting and preparing for the trip. While out exploring spend the day hiking the beautiful Bruce Trail in the Bruce National Park with a full pack, and nights under the stars, sleeping in tents, and cooking outdoors at campsites along the way. Campers must be able to carry their personal belongings as well as some shared equipment (i.e. part of a tent or a cooking stove).


This four night, five day outtrip is for campers who have some comfort with canoeing or hiking. To participate in this program, campers must have turned 13 by the end of 2026.
Spend the first two days at camp learning skills, connecting and preparing for the trip. Go deeper into the backcountry, canoeing beautiful waterways, catching a glimpse of wildlife, cooking outdoors and camping in tents at backcountry sites. Finish the week back at camp.
Spend Monday at camp learning skills, connecting and preparing for the trip and then leave for Algonquin Park. From there campers go back country camping for three nights. While out exploring campers spend the day hiking, cooking outdoors and camping at campsites along the way. Finish the week back at camp, unpacking, debriefing and participating in camp activities like banquet and campfire.
